Privacy Policy
Vote Rev Action Fund, the creator of VoteRev Reminders, explains here how we use and protect information you provide on vote-reminder.app (the "Site"). Effective October 28, 2026. This policy applies only to this Site. We may update it and will post notice of substantive changes here.
Information we collect
- Your state, if you enter it, and your device type.
- The notification address your phone gives us.
- Whether notifications are still on and whether the app is still on your phone. We record this on purpose, to know whether reminders reach you and to decide the second payment.
- The Venmo handle or email you give us, if you want to be paid.
- If you join through a friend's link, which link brought you.
We don't ask who you're voting for or what party you support.
How we use it
To send you polling-place reminders, to pay you what you've earned, and to learn, in aggregate, whether reminders like this work and help us develop and evaluate Vote Rev Action Fund programs. Except as described in this policy, we will never send personal information you provide to any third party. We share payout details only with the service that sends your payment, and only for that purpose. We don't sell your data, and we don't tell anyone, including a friend who referred you, whether you voted.
Other disclosure
We may disclose personal information (1) when we have a good-faith belief that release is appropriate to comply with the law, for example a lawful subpoena; (2) to protect our rights or property, or to protect our users from fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful conduct; (3) if we reasonably believe an emergency involving immediate danger of death or serious physical injury requires it; or (4) as necessary to carry out requests you make.
Do Not Track (California)
We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. This Site does not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
California Consumer Privacy Act
Vote Rev Action Fund is a (c)(4) nonprofit organization and is not subject to the CCPA.
Children
This Site is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13, and if we learn we have, we will delete it. If you believe we have, email us at the address below.
Turning it off and deleting your data
Turn off notifications in your phone's settings or delete the app at any time. Email michelle@voterev.org and we will try to delete your data. We may keep payment records as required by law.
Other sites and non-U.S. residents
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites we link to. The Site is directed to U.S. residents and we process and store information in the U.S.
